About the Book

Introduction
Dental Hygiene School can be a stressful time in one’s life. This guide was created by students in the bachelor degree-completion program at Eastern Washington University to assist dental hygiene students in preparing for the anesthesia written board examination. This booklet contains two tests to aide you in determining any weak areas in this subject requiring more study.
The questions were formulated using information from the Handbook of Local Anesthesia fifth edition, by Stanley F. Malamed and Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office sixth edition, by Stanley F. Malamed. Answers are given at the end of each exam with explanations provided to further clarify the answer. Page numbers in the answer key correspond with the section the question was derived from in the Local Anesthesia or Medical Emergencies book. This allows you to easily find information on a subject you feel you need to study more in depth.
This guide can be used as a supplementary test of your understanding of local anesthesia knowledge. Your schools Dental Hygiene Instructors are an additional source that can provide up to date information about the anesthesia board exam. The creator’s of this guide are in no way affiliated or endorsed by WREB.
We hope our test helps you prepare for your exam. Best of luck to you as you pursue your dental hygiene licensure.
