The idea for Jack & Lala came from my neighbors kid Maisy. She was two years old when my black cat Jack and I lived next door. She couldn't pronounce our names and would call us Yak and Lala. I wanted to leave her with something to remember us by when we moved and created my first edition of Yak and Lala in 2016. When my Jack passed away in 2020, I rewrote the books using his name. He was a good kitty. I miss him every day.
