Robert Downing resides in Tomball, Texas, with his wife along with nearby children and grandchildren. He served as a Russian language specialist in the USAF Security Service from 1963-1969. He is a graduate of the University of Houston, and after several years of business management, taught in public schools for twenty years before retirement.
