About the Book

When I asked Emily what she would like for Christmas this year (2014), she asked for a book of favourite family recipes. Initially, I was going to get a blank recipe book and write the recipes; then I thought that it would be better to type them on the computer and make a ring bound booklet. After looking at some old family photographs, I realised that no family cookbook would be complete without a little family history, photographs and some anecdotes.

May this book bring many years of pleasure to all who use it.

Regina Kroczek (nee Frank) was born in Martinshöhe, Germany, in 1962 and is the second youngest child of Maria and Alwin Frank. In 1974, at the age of 12, Regina moved with her family to Australia and met Paul in Kambalda in 1977. They married in 1980 in Sydney and had three children, Maria (1983), Emily (1985) and Philip (1987).

Food has always been very important in the family, not just for the basic need of food to survive, but every celebration and family event is highlighted by much loved, favourite dishes, which have become family traditions.

Currently Regina and Paul live in Perth, Western Australia, where they still enjoy trying out new recipes and frequently using their old favourites.
