It is the Second Age of hybrids, half humans that are hunted for their magical blood. In this age, a boy named Ash lives. He is a hybrid, one unlike any other. He is a dragon hybrid, the only one the world has ever seen. But, he is unstable. At random moments, whether triggered by wild emotions or memories, or even sights and smells, Ash has what he calls "outbursts" where his inner dragon decides to break through. The outbursts continue to grow worse. Ash can't control them, and it puts his life at risk. With the king's soldiers at every corner, its only a matter of time before he will get caught. Yet, hope prevails. Ash meets a young girl, a hybrid like himself. Quickly forming a friendship, the two travel together, watching out for each other, all the while searching for a rumored hybrid home to the west. But what happens when they find out its nothing like they dreamed it would be, and might in fact be even more dangerous than the humans?
