Dequan Taylor is an African American, 17 year old pursuing his GED at the Bridge Academy, powered by Kinexus in Benton Harbor, MI. He was born in Liousiana, and was raised in Benton Harbor, MI. In his spare time, he enjoys playing video games and basketball. Through writing this book, he has learned that Irish immigrants were searching for a better life.
