The Jefferson were part American Indian and Black Slaves. We would like to know the Indian part and what tribe they may have been. We believe they were Cherokee, because this Native American tribe was indigenous to the Southeastern United States.

Patrica Lester Matthews is a decendent of Mary L.Jefferson. Born in 1949 to Army Lester Jr. and Bertha Lester. I attended Byromville Elementary School, Vienna High & Industrial School. I graduated from Fort Valley State University with a BS in Elementary Educations and Strayer University with a MS in Information Systems. I lived in Georgia, Virginia and now currently living in Las Vegas.
