About the Book

The Long Fall Up by [Cortney Lynn] is a raw, unfiltered memoir that takes you deep into the struggle for survival and the journey to redemption. It’s a story of childhood trauma, abandonment, the spiral into drug addiction and incarceration and the journey into sobriety. The author doesn’t shy away from the darkness— This isn’t just a tale of struggle. It’s a testament to resilience. After years of pain, the author found the strength to fight for a better life and Sobriety became the foundation. This book was written as a survival guide for anyone who feels trapped in their own story.

What makes The Long Fall Up stand out is its honesty. The author doesn’t preach or sugarcoat. They share their journey—chains to change— with a clarity that’s both brutal, hopeful and inspiring. It’s a reminder that no matter how far you fall, the climb back is possible.

Hi, I am Cortney Lynn Tanner and I am a writer, artist and recovery advocate. I wrote this memoir to share my struggles and my testimony with others in hopes of changing the stigma associated with the terms "addict, addiction, felon" and so on and so forth. Most importantly I wrote this book in hopes of it reaching those who may still be struggling. I am living proof that recovery is possible and that people can change, so if this book can help save someone's life or be a survival guide to anyone struggling then that makes all of the pain that I went through as a result of my prior addiction worth it.I have known my entire life that someday I need to make a difference and I truly believe that writing this book to share my story with you is part of my purpose. Thank you for reading I appreciate all of you so much.
