About the Book

The Moore Family Story

From County Down Ireland to Canada

Krista M. Moore

Introduction

This work of historical non-fiction is the result of 25 years of research and a little imagination. It contains a tale of two journeys: the Moore women who carried grace through impossible hardship, and the Moore men who built a nation one stubborn principle at a time.

Sparked by my grandmother, Helen Keech Moore’s request to find out more about my grandfather Earl Lawrence Moore’s mysterious Irish lineage, I pursued every crevasse, even travelling to Ireland and Scotland, finding countless records and breabrick walls on ancestry.ca, and conducting DNA research to answer long-buried questions.

I shared some of these stories on my blog www.thatsrelative.com, and finally decided to write a small collection of narratives, with a little help from ai to provide historical context. Citations and records are available on our public tree Moore Woods Family Tree, ancestry.ca.
