When a senior student named Josh Parker is murdered at the high school her grandmother works at, Rachel Holmwood must go undercover as a new student to find out who killed him. Was Josh's demise just an accident or was he murdered to take a secret to his grave. Rachel must find out before she becomes the killer's next victim. Based on the Nancy Drew game "Secrets Can Kill".

Shelby Strogen was born and raised in Shakopee, Minnesota. She got the idea of writing "Secrets Can Kill" from playing the Nancy Drew game of the same name. "While I was playing the game, I really felt like a detective." she commented "In fact, it made me wanted to write a book about my adventures solving the mystery.". Right now, Shelby lives at home with her mother, Jennifer, Stepfather, Pete, and younger sister, Calli.
