I have my Master's of Arts Degree in Education and I work with various age groups of students. I enjoyed St. Lucia with my two sons and husband, many, many years ago. When I saw an old woman selling fried plantains in her store that was a small, old shack , I was inspired by her smile, warmth and kindness. I wanted to write this story to share my cultural experience with others so people can appreciate the rich flavor of the Caribbean culture. I am also from the Caribbean culture, and seeing the old woman frying plantains (vegetable that looks like a banana) brought back so many happy memories of my childhood of eating fried plantains.
