A prelude to The Cloaked Man. Childhood friends Clem Stevenson and Chloe Blake are separated when she moves to Wisconsin with her family. Clem's older brother Glenn and Irma get adopted by Janice Harrison after their parents were murdered when the changelings invaded the city of Mayder.
Clem and Chloe reunite in High School. They went bowling at Bowlero with their siblings and foster family. Chloe's maternal aunt Tammy Gaines was murdered by an evil changeling queen Sion Blamo and frames Chloe's mother Wendy for it.
Clem, Glenn and Irma became superheroes and gave them the names Cloaked Man, Hooded Man and Hooded Lady. Chloe's sister Jenny meets Mason Valenzuela, who he, along with his twin sister Julie, were kidnapped by the same changeling queen. They ended up falling in love for years.
Sion becomes determined to rid the world of bowling by conquering Mayder and executing Mason. To make matters worse, it's prophesized that if Mason's blood spills on the ground, The Grim Reaper will rise from Limbo and take over the entire world.
