Sophia Sesplankis grew up on Grand Manan Island where she enjoyed the natural beauty of it from a young age onward. After graduating high school, she attended the Culinary iIstitute of Canada receiving a Culinary Arts degree. From the on she continued working in kitchen while attending the University Of Prince Edward Island. Though years went by she always wanted to return home to her island but with limited restaurants to work in she could not so instead she wrote this book.
