The Twelve Happy Months chronicles the author's lasting memories as a child and mother. In rhyme that is descriptive, relatable, and reflective of a simpler time, her poetry takes the reader through each month of the year and provides a framework for them to preserve memories of their own.

Patricia Jean McElhinny was born in 1930 in Glassport, a small community in the Greater Pittsburgh Metro area of Western Pennsylvania. She is a great-grandmother of 15, grandmother of 13, and mother of five who began writing poetry and children's stories in her teens. Known as Patsy to family and friends in her younger years and Nana to most everyone since, the author's poetry is published in multiple anthologies including, Poetry of Love - Past and Present (Fine Arts Press, 1982), Poetic Voices of America (Sparrowgrass Poetry Forum, Inc., 1997), The International Who's Who in Poetry (The International Library of Poetry, 2005), Great Poems of the Western World (Famous Poets Press, 2008), and Sunflowers and Seashells - Footprints (Eber & Wein Publishing, 2010). Her poems and stories are inspired by life's special moments, happy occasions, and heartbreaks, and continue to give voice to timeless life lessons for generations of readers.
