The story begins in a pumpkin patch. One of the pumpkins, minding his own business, is selected by a witch on a broom. She takes him from the country to her highrise condo in New York City. Adventures follow. After some time, she returns him to his pumpkin patch.

Elvera M. Rexroth-Reese grew up writing. She started putting words to paper in her first "mystery novelette" in the 8th grade. Since then, there have been numerous poems and childrens' books. In 2008, her first book, "Luminar," was published. Deep down, poetry remains perhaps her favorite venue.
