The Violet Eyed One

Marcelle was born with violet eyes in Avouren and was taken to Elleque, the central town, to be raised as royalty. Those who have been claimed to have "royal" eyes by a minister are taken to the castle at birth to be raised to be royalty. At the age of eighteen their eyes become gold. At seventeen though, something unexpected happens as well.
