About Author
Ruthanne Simmons Pitts grew up summering in the White Mountains. Our parents had a house in Lakeside; no telephone, no television, made phone calls from a local switchboard operator, washed clothing in a wringer washing machine at a local laundry, attended the little white and blue Baptist church on the corner, fished, played ball, made local friends, watched the storms every afternoon and learned to gig frogs. Bill Pitts treasures this mountain, too, and together we have made it our second home.
