The year 2021 pose challenges as we face economic crisis and emotional upheavals.
My book “Thoughts from my Heart” was conceived during the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic which greatly causes an economic downturn, unemployment, health issues, and scarcity of resources.
This is also the time that human resourcefulness, initiative and innovation, and caring aspect to humankind resurface.
Coupled with this pandemic is the struggle of each one to survive. I am one of the living testaments of this.
I have been suffering from major depression with major psychotic features. I fought through it by writing my thoughts and putting my emotions in writings. My poems reflect my ideals and aspirations in life that anyone can relate to. The content in this book views the daily activities of life and the emotions associated with it.

Rhea Mae T. Mahilum, is a Cum Laude graduate with a Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English and Literature course. She has numerous achievements earned during her college years: Leadership Award, Service Award, and Academic Excellence Award. She was also awarded as an extemporaneous speaker. She has been into different organizations and a journalist by heart.
She is both a practicing poet and a writer. Her feats include joining local and international writings which earned her reputation by winning entries to the various categories she joined in.
She has taken numerous short writing courses in international universities and earned certificates that prove her craft as a writer. Her previous years’ entry to journalism writing has also earned her awards.
