This book is taken from a series of stories written by Dorothea Hess Stratton as a memoir as part of a memoir class. In 1984 she took a a class sponsored by the Iowa Writers' Workshop, hosted by Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. This story was one of many Dorothea wrote as part of this class.
