Charlotte Conover Kraft was an artist, play-write and author of many plays, books and short stories. This story and the water-color/pen&ink illustrations where done in 1950. At that time she was writing children's book reviews and raising a family. Now, over 60 yrs. later, her daughter and published children’s book author, Stephanie Kraft Litwin, has edited and re-written the text without losing its original charm and kept the original delightful illustrations.
