james Ryan is a native St. Louisan. He taught Music and Art for forty-three years in Illinois and Missouri. He retired after 30 years with the St. Louis Public School in 2007. He has a Bachelor degree in Music Education from Webster University and a Masters of Music Education from Truman State University.
He has been active in theatre with his wife of 53 years. He has designed sets, been a props master and performed on stage.
He played French Horn in the pit for musicals and with the Compton Heights Concert Band in St Louis.
He sang with the Missouri Choral Society and the St. Louis Symphony Chorus.
