About the Book

In 2003, Grandpa and I began a wonderful journey. We received a calling as Welfare Agents in the Auckland New Zealand Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. What an unbelievable adventure that was as we were able to visit over twenty-five islands, take seventy-six flights and meet the wonderful people of the South Pacific Islands. While on this journey, we were away from our sweet grandchildren. Missing them, I wrote a story from most of the islands we visited. These stories are, mostly about the flora and fauna we encountered or heard of on each island. I loved writing my stories and I hope my special grandchildren enjoy reading them and sharing them with their future children and grandchildren.

Grandpa loved this scripture:

"...for the Lord has made the sea our path and we are upon an isle of the sea."
But great are the promises of the Lord unto them who are upon the isles of the sea;...

2 Nephi 10:20-21
