When Mommy Leaves for the Army is a sweet keepsake for any young child with a mother in the service. Often military families are separated during times of mobilization, training, and deployment. Miliary deployments are difficult on families, no matter which family member serves. This book is designed to comfort children, specifically with mothers in the military. It includes a sweet story of a mother and child bonding before, during, and after a deployment. The book also includes photo pages for the reader to place pictures of the mother and child together; for the child to look back on any time they are missing their Mommy. The book also includes a calendar to mark off days until their loved one returns. Additionally, a journal is included for the child to draw or write in to better process their thoughts, memories, feelings, fears, and hopes. This book has a durable, hardcover to have as a keepsake for the mother and child to look back on for years to come.
