When They Came is a gentle picture book about a young boy named Julio whose life changes suddenly when unfamiliar officers take him from his classroom. Confused and frightened, Julio is brought to a waiting place where he reunites with his mother, father, and baby sister. Together, they face uncertainty, meet other children in similar situations, and hold on to small moments of comfort and hope. Nadja Coln is a military spouse and mother. She is working on her Bachelor in elementary school education at the Ashford University. She was born and raised in Germany in a little town called Schwanfeld, where she enjoyed reading books. She was a regular visitor at the local library, where she got inspired for writing her own books one day. Her creative children inspired her to write books like “August Wants to Fly”, “Timo and the Red Carpet” and her newest book “The Treasure of Carrabus”.
