If I were to have a Youth Ministry, this is what it would look like.

I am a sophomore at Indiana Wesleyan University Studying Youth Ministry. My heart aches for high school students because it is such a shaping time in their lives. It is a time where they are trying to figure out who they are, what they enjoy doing, and most importantly who God is. It’s an honored to be used as a vessel by God to reach out to His children. I have already witnessed the radical change God has sparked in others lives and I cannot wait to see how else He is going to work. Although my passion is for all high school students, the girls have a special tug on my heart. I believe high school years are especially hard on girls because of pressure about looks, the friends they have, and the guy they are dating. I want to be able to be there for those girls to talk, laugh, or even cry with them just to help them get through the day. I was a high school girl once and I know how hard it can be. One of my favorite Bible verses is Colossians 4:5, “Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders, make the most of every opportunity”. I am reminded that there are always eyes on me and I need to continue to strive to become more like Christ. Through the grace of God I am forgiven, therefore I will see all of my students through the grace and eyes of God.
