I was born October 25, 1938 I am my mother’s only child and the oldest of my father’s five children. . Momma said that I finally arrived on this planet about 7:00 A.M. on October 25, 1938, and that my birth was a very long process. Mrs. Chaney Lewis, the local mid-wife delivered me in our two-bedroom house on Loree Road. Evergreen is located in south Alabama. It is the small town in which I was born. There was a population of 3,000 - 4,000 people, at that time

Upon completion of high school, I enrolled and matriculated at Tennessee State University, Nashville, Tennessee, where I majored in Music Education.

Wayne State University in Detroit awarded each of my other graduate degrees. Additionally, I earned a Child Development Associates Degree to support an area of employment that I sought and attained.

My life's work has been devoted to Public Education, where I've had numerous experiences inclusive of teaching, Central Office Administration and Supervision, Program Design and Management, Building Principalships and Assistant Principalships.

I am the mother of Khristopher Darren Stott and the grandmother of Kyler James Stott. Almost 49 years ago, I married their father and grandfather respectively.
