About Author:
This sweet memoir is Ivory Green's ode to his sister Clementine who tragically died at age six in an era that is fraught with the massive swirling tides of humanities’ inequalities regarding race, education, and health.
Ivory moved to New York City from the South during the 1950's and raised a loving family with his hometown sweetheart Bessie and their son Ivory Kelvin. He retired during the 1990's and moved back to his roots. Always mindful and surrounded by the memories he left behind, he wanted a way to remember the little girl who was his giant protector, and my sister Sybil and I were fascinated by the history of our ancestors and would ask our Uncle to tell us every one of his memories. This is our story of a sister never forgotten and of an Aunt we never got to know...until now.
He still lives on the land where the story takes place in Little River, South Carolina.
