These beginning readers use repetitive language focusing on letter-sound correspondence, and beginning sight words to build content understanding and vocabulary about individual development, identity, and culture. Suggestions for parent/child interaction to build phonological awareness, phonics, and fluency are provided along with ideas for writing about the text.
