She started Jewish Lyceum in 1941. She has a sister, named Margot, who is two years older than her. Her father started Opekta in 1934 and Petacon the same year. The Van Pels' joined the company in 1938. Anne received Kitty in 1942. The Franks went into hiding in 1942 and the Van Pels' joined a week later. Anne fell in love with Peter in 1944. The Secret Annex was betrayed on August 4, 1944. They were held in a prison until August 8, 1944. They were sent to Westerbork.
