About Author
Nina Slota, Ph.D. was diagnosed with Crohn's at age 9. She earned her Ph.D. from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York in research developmental psychology, with a concentration in health psychology. She taught disability studies at Hunter College for several years, and is now an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD.
