There are many wolves in the forest but few of them aren't just ordinary wolves. These wolves have special mutation like fire power or ice, speed, strength, or even power to control nature. These wolves are called Whisperers. On the other hand there are wolves that don't have mutations and they are called Mud Dogs. The Mud Dogs are treated cruely and are teased.
One day some of the Whisperers get in a fight and they deside to spit up into groups of wolves with the same mutations. This decision tour many pack apart. If you were caught in a group that did not match your mutation you were kept as a prisoner and later killed.
