A Handy Guide to College Writing

This workbook is a four-part guide to College writing that will prepare students to have an in-depth understanding of writing for technical and academic purposes. This can be used by any entity endeavoring to give training in writing skills. The main goal of this workbook is to help prepare College students for the writing challenges that they will face in College. This is divided into four parts: grammar, usage, orthography, correspondences, graph interpretation, and research proposal.

The first chapter of the workbook provides a basic review of English grammar. The lessons and exercises primarily revolve around the common composition mistakes of English as Second Language (ESL) writers. Aside from the examination of grammar to help students identify composition errors, a brief lesson on the common proofreading symbols is also incorporated in this chapter to prepare students for the succeeding chapters that entail actual writing activities.
