Comet Sense is an illustrated picture book about ‘the people who always look down & the people who always look up’. Because of this the two groups never seem to see what the other sees which causes fear & hatred to grow... that is, until an event causes them to see from the other’s perspective.
In this time of opposite perspectives that have been ignited by the powers that be, it is incumbent on each of us to try to look past the organized polarization and try to find common ground, common sense, or in this case “Comet Sense”.
Comet Sense is full of layers and complex ideas interwoven with pop culture, American icons & mythologies that make it a fun and challenging experience to read and savor.

Trish Harding studied illustration at Academy of Art College , San Francisco. She is the author and illustrator of a number of children's books, including Letters Alive. She lives and works in Bellingham, WA at her Studio UFO School and Gallery. She has been teaching art there and at Whatcom Community College, Creative Arts Community of Portland and other venues around the world.
