hi. my name is dan. i live in a caboose in the hills outside nederland, colorado. i've always been a fan of writing - when i was in high school i won a bunch of silly writing contests and in college i majored in print journalism. for a long time my writing mostly focused on mountain biking adventures around the rocky mountains. i started a 'zine called "off camber" when i was 18 and actually published five issues of it. since then i maintained it at my website http://offcamber.typepad.com. in the last year however, my life changed pretty dramatically and my interest in writing this type of thing dwindled. my writing has since become much darker, but also deeper. anyway, when i'm not writing i love to hike in the mountains. i try to backpack once a week and backcountry skiing is probably my favorite thing to do in the whole world. i find a lot of peace in the outdoors - the rest of life might be shit, but there is always peace and solace out there. anyway, i have always wanted to write a book, and this seemed like a solid place to start. cheers!
