DepEd Order 42, s. 2016 states that the curriculum shall be flexible enough to enable and allow schools to localize, indigenize and enhance the same based on their respective educational and social contexts, (item 10.2, par. (h)). Thus, it is very timely and relevant for the inclusion of the Pottery course in the K12 curriculum. It answers the local need of the community to make each graduate ready to face the challenges of life.
The Damili Module was designed for the Grades 7-8 students for their exploratory subject and Grades 9-10 for their specialization in Technology and Livelihood Education.
This is in line with the proposed local curriculum in the Junior High School of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte as part of the preservation and restoration of their rich cultural heritage.
