About the Book

The story revolves around an amnesiac girl named Ryōko Otonashi who is a student in Hope's Peak Academy, and the sharp-tongued Ultimate Neurologist Yasuke Matsuda, with whom she is infatuated with.

Due to her constant loss of short and long-term memories, Ryōko has very little interest in the world around her except for Yasuke, who gives her regular treatment. Yasuke, on the other hand, appears very stressed by her and the school's situation.

A month after The Tragedy of Hope's Peak Academy, the school is full of unrest and secrets, with many people attempting to find out what truly happened and who is to blame. Despite not wanting any of it, Ryōko is connected to the incident and soon gets caught up in its aftermath, learning more and more about what happened.

" My theory is that happy people can only write happy, shallow novels. But the downtrodden can vividly imagine their ideal world, perfectly envisioned in true beauty... And that's the spirit I put into my novels. "

As the Ultimate Writing Prodigy, Touko possesses extreme writing skills. The first time she knew that she has a talent for writing was when one of her teacher in elementary school found her love letter and later supported her to keep writing and expand her knowledge about literature.
One of her romance novels 'So Lingers the Ocean' was extremely popular. Even at her young age, she received many awards.
