My Grandma Billie was a great cook. This may be an understatement as her friends and family were often left hankering for her recipes after trips down gastronomy heaven’s lane. Even a few days after her passing, when I let the family and friends know I wanted to take her cookbooks, I was asked to please share as some of her recipes are well known in her circles, associated only with Billie and good times.

It was right then that I decided to embark on this culinary adventure and walk down memory lane. Numerous are my memories of grandma and food experiences in some fashion. From my learning a love of tea, to how to make perfect gravy, to begging that she makes “funny jello” for each Thanksgiving.

We all miss her. I hope this brings you some comfort and happy memories of my grandmother, our grandmother, mother, friend. Our love for her will shine when we make these recipes to enjoy again with family and friends. And may we pay tribute to her each time we share the recipes with family, friends, and future generations….telling them that this is from the kitchen of Billie Kline.
