When Zero Blacklidge accidentally transports himself to an alternate universe, he meets a short, blood-starved vampire, Silver Finnel. As they go through experiences together Zero learns that there may be a chance for him to find love. Their travels bring the two individuals closer, and both Zero and Silver learn more about each other's past.

As a child, Silver Gilbertson spent most of her life homeless on the side of a river, her life full of imagination. She became very talented in both art, writing, and telling stories. The older she got the more her talent grew. At the age of twelve, she began writing her first story," Blackout" and caught much attention from friends and was encouraged to continue writing.
