An introduction to traditional and modern cowboy and cowgirl music for ages two - six. Children will get a brief overview of the geography and vocabulary of the west, then learn to sing and play along to several western songs from two real-life cowgirl singer/songwriters!
WMA recording artist and music educator Aspen Black is a versatile singer/songwriter with a vast, eclectic repertoire. She writes and performs Contemporary Western, Folk, Country, and Christian Music as well as Cowgirl Poetry. She is also a talented painter, author, and champion horsewoman. Aspen has had many nominations for awards in the WMA and AWA, and her current CD, Eastern Western Cowgirl is nominated for CD of the year with the AWA and Rural Roots Music Commission. Aspen has enjoyed radio airplay in several markets since 1994.
Alice Black is a nine-year-old singer/songwriter, painter, and cowgirl poet. Alice is learning several instruments and is the youngest member of the Bald Knob Artists and the Southwest VA Songwriters Association. She has played on many stages including the Franklin County Fair, Rawhide Ministries GA Cowboy Gathering, and for two years on the Youth Main Stage Showcase at the Western Music Association's International Convention in Albuquerque, NM.
