I'm a Mom, Wife, Grandmother, and of course a daughter.
I had just lost my Father to lung cancer a month prior to writing this book.
My Dad was everybody's friend, the life of the party, the listener, advice giver, and the person that everyone just felt so honored to know.
Needless to say the shock and sadness of his diagnosis was devastating.
He never seemed to let the illness win..mentally. With his comedic personality had all that came in contact with him during his illness ie; doctors, nurses, lab techs, etc. laughing so hard that they were brought to tears.
How does a man this ill from such a disgusting disease keep up this outlook on life?
I feel, that he simply wanted to leave us with the memory of him being happy.
He never felt any physical pain, and wouldn't you know it...the last day of his being able to communicate verbally he was telling jokes.
My Dad was truly my idol and 'my very first sun'
