About the Book

Nuclear energy accounts for approximately 20% of the United States electricity usage each year. Additionally, nuclear energy is produced with no pollutants or toxins to the environment, keeping our air and our environment clean unlike many other forms of energy plants. However, many are still uneducated about nuclear energy and therefore do not support it. This book aims to educate young children about the importance of nuclear energy and how it is a safe alternative to coal and gas plants in our environment.

Brittany Bergsson is a graduating Senior at Washington State University with a degree in Business Administration. For the past 7 years, Brittany has worked as an Administrative Assistant at Energy Northwest- a nuclear power plant located in Richland, WA. Brittany is also a member of Women in Nuclear, an organization aimed to educate the public on the importance and safety of nuclear power. After learning that many elementary-aged children are scared of the word "nuclear" and the meanings behind it, Brittany decided to write a brief children's book, conveying the safety of nuclear power and how it will lead to a cleaner, brighter future.
