Hunting is the sport of kings, an ancient tradition and the way man survived from his inception to modern times. Now these customs are demeaned and belittled but rest assured none of us would be here save the expertise of our predecessors in mastering the hunt and thus insuring our survival. Our ancestors venerated the animals that they hunted and which provided their sustenance as do current day hunters with our ritual and traditions. Today we are not forced to hunt for our survival but rather for our spiritual commune with our forefathers, nature and one another in remote locations reveling in the chase. The harvesting of wild game offers us a splendid opportunity to enjoy the same nourishment as our earlier hunting brethren sans antibiotics, steroids and other ingredients used today in our commercial food supply. In addition to being wonderful for our body’s well-being, it is absolutely delicious and incredibly great with fine wine.
