The Pear Core Stories was created by Irene Olson, a retired teacher of 28 year of teaching. Working primarily with special education students grades 4-6, she wanted to create a fun way to teach very difficult literary terms required in the common core state standards. The goal is to support fellow teachers, students and parents by providing these materials and enhancing student’s retention of these difficult terms. These stories are multilevel and provide enjoyment, comprehension, vocabulary, understanding of poetry terms, and enhance literary discussions.
