This book is testament to the idealism of historic preservation and celebrates that great art movement called Art Deco, especially the architects in this case. All of these pictures are taken from Ocean Drive on Miami’s South Beach.

Timothy Burak is a photographer and printmaker living in Pittsburgh, PA with a day job at U.S. Bank. He used to live and work in South Florida in the early Eighties and visited these hotels when they were in disrepair and almost lost forever.
I photographed these hotels on December 6th and 7th, 2016 using a technique called High Dynamic Range (HDR), which is capturing multiple pictures of differing exposure values and combining them in highly advanced software, which in this case is called Aurora HDR 2017. I did not make any edits in Photoshop or any other software.
As you can see the light on South Beach is quite beautiful. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a winter get away. You can also visit Art Basel Miami Beach the first Thursday in December, as I do, and it runs for four days. It is the largest art fair in the Americas by far. Also running concurrently is Art Miami which is composed of about 20 other art venues, galleries and museums.
