This is an independent non-fiction writing activity of the Kindergarten A students. They made this as their last project before they go to Kindergarten B.
1. They learned that non-fiction books have a simple title and most of the time have real pictures.
2. Nonfiction authors use table of contents to help readers locate information from their books.
3. Nonfiction authors write books that inform and teach. These information written in the books are called facts.
4. Nonfiction authors add labels to pictures to tell their readers more about their topic.
5. Nonfiction authors use bold words to draw attention to vocabulary that is relevant to the topic.
6. Nonfiction authors use fun facts to add more information about their topic.
7. Nonfiction authors add a list to pictures to tell their readers more about the topic.
8. Nonfiction authors use maps to help readers see where things and places are located.
9. Nonfiction authors make a list of words found in their books and their meanings.
10. Lastly, it is always good to get to know the authors better.
To become a nonfiction author, you must begin with a topic that is close to your heart - something that you like. Next, you can write something about a topic that intrigues you. You can start researching or reading books to help you learn new things. To help you remember the things that you read, write it!
