I met Stephen sometime in the late 70s when he kindly gave me this volume of his poetry. As I recall, I met him through friends at The Hawaii Outward Bound expedition, which had a campus in Kamuela, Hawaii. At that point in my life I had an Alfalfa Sprout growing company called Sandwich Isle Sprouts. Hence his inscription on the front page. He had a gentle soul and came and departed in the blink of an eye, as was true of many of his experiences which he describes in this volume of his poetic encounters. I have searched for more information on Stephen to no avail. Most of the friends who knew him back in the 70s have passed on and as I recall, I once was told, he had also.
Pleased to share this poetry.
