Student-curated journal excerpts compiled by their teacher. These students were in 7th and 8th grades during the Coronavirus Pandemic of spring 2020. Each student kept a journal of their experiences during the last trimester of the school year while they were forced to study remotely during a period of isolation.

Colin Kessler teaches 7th and 8th grade English and History at Butteville Elementary School in Edgewood, CA. During the 2019-2020 school year, he had a total of 43 students. When the coronavirus pandemic arrived and forced schools to close, Mr. Kessler adapted his teaching practice to an online format. One of the first assignments he created was for the students to keep a daily "pandemic journal." He also assigned them to answer a weekly "resilience question."
