Sumitra Patel is a young girl who, along with her family, has been exiled from Uganda due to Idi Amin's new regime, stating that all Asians must leave the country in 90 days or be hanged.

In Britain she struggles with Racism from the ou side world and a growing pressure from her parents, to be part of what she she calls the Banquo line, line after lines of Indian girls, same age as her getting married.

She struggles with a future of being a traditional Indian housewife and having a free life full of her choices.
