Surviving in English is a fully illustrated book for learning and/or improving your everyday English.
This colourful Beginners to Lower intermediate level book is divided into 20 units. Each unit begins with a dialogue which a student, or any other person, could easily be part of: meeting somebody for the first time; having lunch at a restaurant; or asking for directions to a place.
At the end of each unit there are some grammar, vocabulary, speaking and pronunciation exercises to follow relating to the dialogue seen.
Towards the end of the book there is an Appendix section where the student will find The English Alphabet, The Numbers, a list of commonly-used Irregular verbs, and some basic tenses in English like the Present simple and past continuous, amongst other things.
This is the second edition of Surviving in English; it was first published in 1998. Copyright Jack Icaza.
