In the past two weeks the students and I have been discussing the five food groups and how to incorperate them into every meal. What they have done is all created their own individual meal using all five of the food groups for you. There is also a price list include research by our dedicated students! Hope you enjoy how their work!
What we have learned:
A food group is a collection of foods that share similar nutritional properties or biological classifications. Nutrition guides typically divide foods into food groups and recommend daily servings of each group for a healthy diet.
Dairy, also called milk. Examples of dairy products include milk, yogurt and cheese
sweets, is typically a very small category in nutrition guides,Examples include cooking oil, butter, margarine and shortening.
Fruit, include apples, oranges, bananas, berries and lemons.
Grains, also called cereals and sometimes inclusive of potatoes Examples include wheat, rice, oats, barley, bread and pasta.
All of these pages are created by a very hard working class that has grasped the concept of the 5 food groups.
